How the air stays clear

Each ship shares position, speed, altitude, and the slot it means to hold. Emergency traffic keeps the right of way, and other ships yield. The chart knows the towers, smokestacks, plants, and tall buildings, and traffic stays outside them. Home, work, and shopping are locked to a pad, a speed, and an altitude, and a ship can fly that arrival itself. Pinch both safety buttons and the ship commits itself to the nearest emergency center, ignores the stick, and lands. That center is told an emergency is coming. A call about noise over a school or a business sends that lane around it. Quiet hours do the same without a call. The landing pad itself stays where it is. A craft that sends no signal stays off the picture until another ship can see it, and then it is reported to everyone. A ground concern moves everyone else out of that column. The fence keeps ships 110 meters and 80 feet apart. This is a working model of that coordination, not a certified flight system.
